I was extra-extra lucky that a student gave me a lift home last night. If I had caught my usual public transport, I would have been in the middle of this. There's another storm on the way right now, but not as bad. I've been getting warning signals for it all morning.

Any storms that hit after today are officially autumn storms, which makes yesterday's a summer storm. A metre of ice in summer doesn't seem quite right, somehow.

I just posted an update about the Regency Gothic banquet. Recipe testers have taken my March 1 deadline quite seriously and large numbers of comments have been descending on me. It sounds as if we have some tough choices ahead between really delectable recipes. And the grand negus jokes are back!!!

I haven't done much else today except teach. Thunderstorms keep getting in the way.
