My phone is ringing madly and Halloween is to blame. I shall appear on various radios (I sit on them, and crush them with my great weight then the owners hopefully put them in for recycling and spend their money on books ... or something... probably 'something', my mind is deeply into the Middle Ages today and modern things bug me) this week, but mostly this afternoon. I'm wondering how much of Church reform I get to talk about. The interviewers want the sexy aspects, so I suspect none.

What else is happening today? I'm not sure, because my phone is going pretty non-stop. This is the Day of the Phonecall and the Meeting. Tomorrow might have to be my quiet day instead. Wednesday can't and Thursday can't and Friday can't and Saturday can't and.... did I say this was my busy time of year?

I'd better start on my teaching prep today for later in the week. I tried starting a little while ago, but instead of the book I was looking for, I found one on Medieval housing that said "Read me" with intense vigour. I need to develop a special kind of vision that enables me to see only the books I'm going to use at that moment. Also, I need to diminsh my to-be-read pile. Today my leisure aim is to reduce it to 15 volumes, not including that housing book or any review books.

The Halloweenness of this morning reminded me - in a few days time submissions for the Masques anthology will be closed. I hope everyone who can submit (Australians and CSFG members) has already taken care of this? I want a weekend full of stories to read, you see.
