May. 12th, 2005 10:29 pmI taught my students to curse today. We decided to give the Prime Minister boils because the other options (murrain or the killing of the first born) seemed inappropriate. I will miss my medieval magic class - I do hope that my manuscript class (starting Saturday) and my "Life and Times of Richard I" class (starts Tuesday) are as much fun.
The cursing episode fixed my jinx - lots of small things were going wrong all round me till then. I was feeling battered and bruised. Now I just feel a trifle guilty. It doesn't feel *right* to teach people how to lay a curse. I taught them blessings as well, but still...
The other totally cool thing of the day was being visited by my cousin. She was in Canberra just for the day and brought me some of Auntie Joan's cookbooks so I would have a memento of my aunt. It was Auntie Joan who taught me to make cumquat liqueur, and it was cumquats from my cousin's garden that went into the current batch, so four old cookbooks were triply divine.
You need to know, though, that I am not obsessed with food. Not. Not. Not. Well, maybe just not much. I am also not obsessed with science fiction and not going to watch Stargate.
I wonder if coffee cures lying?
