Serendipity is a glorious thing.

I have been rediscovering the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries this month because of that book that crept up on me and clamoured to be written (now officially half way done). I have also been interested in blogging as a cultural phenomenon. And I recently wrote a short story based on the salon-as-maintainer-of-core-of-culture concept.

Today I came across this http://www.livejournal.com/users/sartorias/108967.html which brings everything together rather nicely.

Oh, the joys of the blogosphere! For all those people who want *more* people to ask historical questions of - this is a fun page: http://oracknows.blogspot.com/2005/09/history-carnival-xvi.html

I love the History Carnival. Every time I read it my afternoon's work is entirely derailed. I will get back and read all comments on short stories and learn from them, I promise. Just not till I have read the history carnival.
