Today is announcement day. This is a pity. I had insomnia last night and spent a full hour composing just about the wittiest post you will ever read. I woke up and realised that no-one needs the wittiest post ever. Especially since most of my jokes were concerned with Christmas.

In lieu of wit you have advertisement.

Donna Maree Hanson's book overviewing current Australian speculative fiction writers is out in a mere few days. And she has promised a discount to anyone on her mailing list. There will be a launch at the Australian Archives next Friday. Food and books and Jack Dann. Me on the book table smiling sweetly and saying "Buy this or I will practise medieval medicine on you." if you have a masochistic streak I might have to make that "Buy this or I won't practise medieval medicine on you." I have some great recipes for ailments that really, really need testing.

What else was I going to tell you? Oh yes, two things. First, you can find information about Donna's book here: http://www.austspeculativefiction.com.au/

Second (and entirely unrelated) Jose Feliciano has apparently decided to back the Stories of Strength anthology. Which is cool. Or it would be cool if I were not Jewish. As it is, I can't get his Christmassy song out of my poor meandering brain, and so I had insomnia last night.
