Today's post is brought to you by the word "punctuation".

Actually, it is brought to you by the word "editing." One editor working with my stuff loves colons and semi-colons (used correctly). She does say that these days a dash can be used in places where I often use a colon, but she doesn't actually get rid of colons unless they drag the text into places it should not be. One says that they should be expunged in their entirety.

I should be grateful they are editing different texts.
