(no subject)
Aug. 22nd, 2006 11:01 amI have no time to think today. so here's another handy mnemonic. OK, so it's not a mmnemonic. It *does* apply to every single one of my books though.
St Johns College, OXford 70.
Thys boke ys on,
crystys curs ys Anodyr;
he that sstellyth the ton,
I pray good send hym the todyr.
And here's one for all the librarians and archivists of the world to use (Cambridge Uni Kk.6.18)
Goodman, fool, ass, lovte-
That tearest a Book with-out dovbte
That dooth displease thee,
By the wyse amended mai bee;
But be it the argument is bad,
Keape it for a wittness to be had!
(I am lazy and haven't found *any* of these rhymes myself - unlike that other book one. They all come from Robbins RH Secular Lyrics of the XIVth and XVth Centuries.)
