Sep. 11th, 2006 09:57 pmSome of you may have noticed that my posts are a bit erratic right now and tend to be erratic every single month for just a few days. Not just posts. All sorts of promises fly out the door. There is a *really* obvious reason for it. I only worked out the reason today though :).
I am perimenopausal. My perimenopause has some cute symptoms: hot flushes, a brand-new and very exotic temper (OK, so I have lost my temper 5 times in two years, but I am still surprised when it happens), breakages happening in my vicinity (not from the temper, truly).
The latest symptom is less than cute - four day headaches that increase in severity until I am engulfed in full-blown migraines that reduce my life to rubble. If anyone has any experience of these (not normal headaches or normal migraines - I deal with *those* with exquisite grace, mostly) I would love some sage advice, because I lost most of yesterday and today. Sick time in bed and not being able to read a book is a vast waste of time. I'm better than two months ago in that I get skerricks of things done and given time I may sort out more ways of ameliorating it, but if anyone has been through this or has a friend who has been through this, I would really love some advice.
PS To anyone who is uncomfortable about me talking about perimenopause, I also mention my big toe and Thomas a Beckett's underpants. Just accept that I am an embarrassing person to know.
