Steam Engine Time 5 / Cordwainer Smith

The new SET - my favourite fanzine - is out ( http://efanzines.com/SFC/SteamEngineTime/SET05.pdf )and as well as the usual good stuff (editorials, solid articles on Christopher Priest's The Separation, the political history of SF, fandom and sex, fantasy and literary censorship, letters) there is a series of articles on Cordwainer Smith. Mine came from a panel Continuum before last. Panels can be dangerous, that way. I said some things (mainly about Canberra, White Australia, Australian economic policy and the Book of Daniel) and Bruce persuaded me to write them down. Re-reading my thoughts, I think I could have done better by Bruce. Next time, I will think less telegraphically and work the underlying logic better.
