Nov. 12th, 2006 03:58 pmKylie came round for lunch. She broughy salads and miniature quiches and chocolate. I added grilled haloumi with fresh lemon and also coffee. Kylie threatened to throw out my perfectly innocent and charming coffee spoon, and then we settled down to watch "The Corpse Bride." It's an entirely brilliant film and thank you
fred_bear for thinking I might enjoy it. I'm not giving it back til I've seen it again.
My reading for this afternoon is by Juliet Marillier. I chose it ahead of the other 2 remaining Aurealis books because it has the nicest cover of the three. The best cover of all so far this year is for a book by DM Cornish. Fortunately for most writers, the cover doesn't enter into calculations for shortlisting. The nicer covers do make a difference to the order in which I'll read weekend books, because handling nice-looking books over the weekend helps keep the weekend separate from weekdays.
