Jan. 20th, 2007 11:31 pmToday was a solitaire-and-cup-of-tea-and-go-to-library-and-make-historical-recipes kind of a day. There was strange wet stuff from the sky. It was a good omen and the early nineteenth century Royal Cake my mother and I crafted was perfection.
There is only one way to end a day like this. British detective drama, watched en famille. There was occasional thunder for special effects. And rain, lots of rain.
Note: the rather splendid cake (a variation of a pound cake, but much yummier) is available for tasting over the next few days for Melbourne friends. You might want to ring first to make sure I'm not at the library, scrounging more books.
