How to avoid Gillian in 2007
Mar. 13th, 2007 02:34 pmTo avoid me, just don't go to these events:
24 March Regency Gothic Banquet Dessert Testing Party (we probably should have hung out for a shorter name).
2 April first night Passover.
Easter - National Folk Festival, Canberra (still don't know if I can go).
14 April - new course, ANU (plus a whole heap of other courses this semester which are too numerous to list here, but can be found here).
18-19 April Leadership for Women course ANU (plus other Professional Development courses which can be found here: this is the secret aspect of my teaching drawing from that non-writing non-history aspect of my strange existence).
25 April - I turn 46. Take the day off. Come over and celebrate. Send me presents. Have a coffee. Or something.
1 May - Food in history course begins. I get to talk about nineteenth century margarine.
19 May - very short workshop at the ACT Writers' Centre (history for writers - link to all ACT Writers Centre courses).
16-17 June - where I teach all about those maps and languages and cultural baggage and how to use it in crafting a world for fantasy writing. It's at the ACT Writers' Centre. Expect much butchers' paper.
1-2 July 3rd International Mandelbaum Conference on Yiddish Studies, “Kehiles”/Communities, 1-2 July 2007, Mandelbaum House, University of Sydney.
14-15 July The Medieval Imagination - more history for writers, this time Medieval and this time in Sydney.
September - Melbourne. Family, friends, food and Jewish New Year. Also research and deadlines and stuff.
29 September - 1 October Conflux! Regency Gothic Banquet!! Dancing till dawn!!!
13-14 October History for Fiction Writers - a much deeper workshop (2 days instead of 3 hours) and in Sydney.
