Today is busier than yesterday.

I have my interview questions for tomorrow (the Baltimore Sun is asking me about food history) and am pondering them madly. I realised just now that I talk at far greater length than I blog and that I need to think about pithy answers, otherwise I will drive the poor journo entirely crazy. He doesn't need twenty minutes on the Britsh Empire in the nineteenth century in response to a simple question on views of British food. This is why voice interviews need so much more thinking than written - because I *talk.*

I'm halfway prepared for the crit group tonight and 3/4 prepared for the CSFG committee meeting. I've finished reading the thesis I'm examining and just need time to write up my notes and make sense of things. I've done my tax (entirely and completely) and sent off one set of major other forms. I've taught and it was fun (but I forgot my timesheet - oops!).

If I can answer forty emails today and write my food history blog and attend those two meetings then I can tick off *everything* from my list-of-the-day. Which is good, because I plan to skive off tomorrow afternoon and watch a DVD (but only when I've done that missing timesheet!). If anyone wants to join me, then - as ever - there will be good coffee and even better chocolate.
