Jun. 25th, 2007 06:57 pmToday was about recovering from yesterday. It was a day of moderate pain, so I couldn't push anything too far. I still had to finish a book so I can review it, and words for the review started tumbling in my mind, but I kept falling asleep and so I'm not done yet.
My big annoyance of the day was a telemarketer who couldn't believe I wasn't interested in whatever he was saying and who spoke so loudly I held the phone a metre away to hear his end of things. He woke me up in the middle of the nap I had decided to have to deal with the naps I hadn't intended. By the time he'd finished drowning my ear in sales pitch, I was awake. I was ready to work. I was raring to go. And then the phone rang again... and since then I haven't had time to settle down and do solid work. Mind you, I scored a little bit of extra teaching Wednesday, with someone particularly bright and enthusiastic.
I can't classify today. Neither very good, nor very bad, nor very peaceful. Two things I have decided: I shall finish that review tonight and I shall write twenty minutes of science fiction. I will do these things because I can, and after Torchwood. This means I have Monday-the-unclassifable (before Torchwood) and Monday-the-day-of-minor-usefulnesses (after Torchwood).
