Aug. 29th, 2007 06:52 pmAll the early wattles are out and a lot of the not-so-early. The streets are a sudden riot of yellow.
I could have told you this without leaving my flat. For three days my hayfever has been particularly bad, and today I taught with my eyes almost shut. It was mildly exciting. At least it will be over soon, since so much of the wattle is in blossom. And, for those whose eyes aren't swollen closed (please don't advise me about anithistamines - this was after I took the maximum dose) it really does look spectacular. Not as good as the moon last night, but pretty wonderful all the same.
If the wattle is a sign of how floral Spring will be, then Conflux is going to have a fabulous backdrop. Floriade (our flower festival) will lure con-goers out of their bar-arguments and into the parks. And the worst of the allergies are *now* - only one badnews tree very late in Spring. We will have the prettiest SF Convention anywhere!
