I am torn between the great desire to go to a talk tonight and the great physical need for a restful evening. I think the restful evening's going win (reluctantly) because I have lots to do tomorrow and have to watch my energy levels. That's the bad news.

The good news is that my Wednesday students are impressed with my creativity.

After teabreak this morning I announced we were going on an excursion and suggested to the admin person that we might be in need of a search party if we got lost, since we were going such a great distance into the unknown. He asked how far. Twenty metres.

We walked our twenty metres and I blew my class many, many plastic bubbles. They caught them and examined them and found themselves in them and are going to write pieces about the world turning inside out (or in one case, upside down and wearing an unexpected necklace).

At first a couple were a little cautious. Catching bubbles is not exactly a normal pursuit for serious adults. It didn't take long, though, because they were all fascinated by the images in the bubbles and thinking of things to write about. Not a one of them noticed that three passers-by were so fascinated by what we were doing that they found seats and sat down to watch.
