Mar. 6th, 2008 09:47 pmToday was a whirlwind of apple tasting and bullace picking; of bullace liqueurs (2 varieties) teaching food history. I've had a brilliant day, but it's been almost without stop since I woke up. It'll be the same on Saturday - joyously busy. (I think I love teaching almost a smuch as writing right now. Why do I feel wrong confessing this?) Between now and then maybe I should get some sleep, since last night was a hot flush night and sleep was far away. (if ever you have to teach on a night full of wakefulness, feed your class old apples - by the time we got to the last bite, we were all entirely alert.)
Update: someone asked what mysterious element in the apples caused the class to be alert. It's a very rare and subtle element known as sugar.
