I'm catching up on things (slowly) because last week was so frantic I got a little behind.

Right now, belatedly, I'm celebrating International Women's Day. I have bookmarks and things this year. For as long as the celebratory cuteness lasts, anyone who sends me their street address (to philologa (at) gmail (dot) com if you like) will get a random piece of it. I also have two postcards containing a very pretty picture of a Medieval mansucript illumination, announcing an exhibition in Victoria. Same deal - send me a street address and you get one of them. First come, first served for all of it, but you might want to specify which event you wish to celebrate (or both, if you are a feminist Medievalist).

It's also Women's History Month, of course. I shall post about tht separately, and not tonight. I still have a way to go in my catching up before I reach Women's History Month.

Today is the day of important things.

For instance, I just went to get my mail and discovered that one of my neighbours left the security door open. This means all the warmth from outside has already entered my flat. The warmth outside is already above thirty degrees and rather dense. Pity I didn't want a sauna today.

Another instance? I did five minutes of housework. Then I made coffee to recover.

And another? I keep wondering what food goes with alcohol for Friday week. Anyone coming is entitled to a suggestion, if there's a favourite dish of yours that you are missing. The only things I'm pretty certain I'll have are hamentaschen and little chicken pastry thingies.

A fourth instance? I found one of my sets of housekeys. Now all I need to do is find the other and I'm set. Without even one, though, I was stuck indoors for the foreseeable future, which would have really annoyed my Wednesday and Thursday students.

PS I have a new decision on those giveaways - any that aren't spoken for by Friday get given to poor unsuspecting Sydney friends.
