I've had my fun for the day (a market visit - they're just getting better and better) and now I have to knuckle down and catch up with work. If I can catch up with various things then tomorrow I get a writing day. I also get to eat two choc/chili Easter eggs from Colefax (the Triffitts are worth their weight in diamonds) and to jump up and down like a madwoman (there will be music to jump to, of course). Tuesday I have to be so sober and serious that no-one will recognise me, since I'm meeting with a chef at a major hotel to talk about menus and food history. That's why I have to turn into a madwoman on Monday, since I am otherwise incapable of repressing my bad jokes.
One of the things I intended to do today was list some of the places I will be from late April, so that people can go into avoidance mode. The most important ones today are my courses on Medieval Women and Our Edible Past (food in history) because they are fun and because there are still places open and because you might be tempted to do them. They start at the very end of April or the very beginning of May. Just remember that I'm the teacher and you'll resist temptation bravely. Also that they're in Canberra and that most of you live a fair way away.
That reminds me. This week in the current version of the history course I'm teaching drinks. I so need to test some of the various coffees before I present my new theory. That's another reason I might be bouncing like a madwoman: too much caffeine.
