May. 31st, 2008 05:25 pmI am full of raspberries and cream.
Today was market day and my freezer was a bit overfull. It took K's exceptional packing skills plus the unfreezing of raspberries and goulash to fit everything in. This means I have everything from porterhouse steak to osso bucco ready for winter. There's a solid satisfaction in having the freezer full for winter. Also in having enough paper to last me through the next writing season. In fact, it feels a bit as if I'm a part of a Book of Hours picture, and I'm tempted to go backwards and time and get out my sickle to mimic harvest or to let my pigs rampage through the forest in search of acorns.
There's also a solid satisfaction in having raspberries and cream outside season. The solidity in this case is purely in my waistline.
