This week is 100% the week of the book. There was already going to be much reading in it, because I need to rest and rest without stories is a tad dull, but now I have the best excuses to read a great deal.

I have four books to blog and five books to review. I have another 8 books that are warning me they'll be a bit upset if I don't read them and put them away. One of them is a book of Yemenite Jewish folktales, which is small but should be seriously interesting. I was trying to explain to someone that my background is not a Fiddler on the Roof one and it's great to have a written reminder (in folktales) that there are so many not-Fiddler Jews out there.

That should be enough to keep me out of mischief for a few days.

Does anyone want me to blog on my reading progress? I'm not going to do a little metre, explaining how many books I've read off the seventeen (I think it adds up to seventeen), but I'm happy to talk about the individual joys of some of the specific books.

For instance, the first cab off the rank was a Mercedes Lackey. She's one of the writers I turn to when background pain levels make comfort reading essential. It will take a few days for my body to stop creaking, but this morning was far more tolerable because of her book.
