Have you ever had days where you know you're uninteresting?

My cure for these is a hot bath and a good book. The good book is by Marjorie Liu (sent to me by the very kind Lyn Viehl, through her blog) and the hot bath is very fragrant. It may not make me more interesting, but it should certainly relax me.

I'm going to blame the weather. When I become a fascinating human being again, I shall tell you about fascinating things. Till then, I recommend fragrant baths and good books.

I may not be interesting today, but Conflux certainly is. Does anyone remember "Let the Blood Run Free," which has to have been the strangest soapie every produced in Australia? One of the writers is coming to Conflux (obviously our media guest, since most other niches are covered). He's done a whole lot of way reputable stuff since then, including "The Tomorrow Girl." He's going to be awesome! He and Jack Dann as a tandem act are going to be even more so (my brain implodes when I try to find the right description and I don't feel implosive tonight, so you can find your own words).

Felicity Pulman is also giving a workshop. She has a wonderful gift for teaching teens about writing and how to create. She also writes the Janna Mysteries and I intend to collar her and get Jannatime. Flick also got back from the Galapagos recently. She's going to be a Darwinist-magnet.

I can see I must beef up the chocolate. Maybe not 'beef up' - maybe just make sure there is lots and it's good. Fortunately, I'm in Melbourne for Jewish things just before Conflux and the place I got that gum-filled rocket and all those chocolate ghosts from is half way between my mother's and my sister's place. I can't compete with the brilliance of the other guests, but I can certainly provide more chocolate. Also, I can bring grains of paradise. I don't know what I'll do with them if there isn't a food panel, but I'll bring them.

It's all on the Conflux website, which is way more interesting than me tonight. That's because everything will be way more interesting than me until the weather finishes changing. I blame my Perth friends for not hanging onto their weather. Canberra should not be getting Perth weather in winter. (So there.)
