I'm still delightfully viral. I am such a kind person that I spread my virus at the compulsory workplace training today (which turned out to be focussed on bullying in standard office environments - I haven't worked in a standard office environment for 10 years, but I did take notes on the strange lifestyles described) before I came home and fell fast asleep for the whole afternoon. Tomorrow I get to share my virus with my students and somehow teach for a four hour excursion. I might sleep the afternoon away again, tomorrow too.

In the spirit of seasonal cheer, I have put some recipes on how to fake a 19th century port on my food history blog. This is something port-lovers need to know. How else will you tell the difference between a real 19th century port and a fake one? (No, Sharyn, you will not make the joke about Sydney having a good harbour but Rutherglen having a great port: it has already been made, often.)
