Today started off at midnight.

I know, most days do that. But mine started off with all sorts of interesting happenings at midnight. 'Watch this space' kinda stuff. When I woke up there were more interesting happenings. Since then I have done a pile of work (mainly editing and proof reading) and moved deadlines and shifted my plans for the next four weeks so that all the new stuff fits (I knew some of it was going to happen, but wasn't certain when).

I intend to do everything and stay well. It's a bit ambitious, but I need to be ambitious, this month, because other people are doing amaizng things all round me. More 'watch this space' kinda stuff.

I shall have a draft of the ghosts novel finished by Monday. Part of the ambitiousness. It means 15,000 more words. But I am on the last stretch. It's just connecting dots and making sure things work from here, really. Oh, and doing the action scenes. I always put off doing action scenes, especially if they involve horsewhips. I'm still interested in the manuscript being beta-read, but I have tight timelines this year, so anyone who takes it needs to know that I'd need it back within a few weeks. If you're still interested, please say. It's not a normal ghost novel, but I guess you knew that already.

Speaking of watching spaces, if prevous anthologies I have been involved in are any guide, quite a few writers are keeping their ears to the ground wondering how we're going with Masques. Is it going to be released on time? Has CSFG suddenly gone belly-up? Why hasn't everything happened already? Or maybe that's just me.

Well. There is bad news. Peter B (President of CSFG) has been in hospital. Some serious stuff. He is getting better, but would appreciate cards and good wishes and things. I'm happy to relay messages.

There is good news, too. Masques is still on schedule. You should begin to see PR very soon. I'm so glad CSFG is letting me do this (and that I'm with Scott rather than alone) - the communityish nature of CSFG is making my first anthology a whole lot less terrifying. Also, I have found a couple of people who I would work with anytime on anything - super wonderful they are, and they keep me sane, to boot. You don't know what an achievement that is, keeping me sane. Or maybe you do.
