Jan. 10th, 2009 11:27 amTwo things I didn't report yesterday - a bad case of foot-in-mouth disease and some really lovely bunches of lavender from friends. R1 gave me the dried flowers and I intend to put some of them in my old pot pourri bowl, just as soon as I am over my cute little 24 hour virus. R2 has given me fresh, which will be hung up for drying in the library, again, as soon as. No matter how many of the small things go wrong, and no matter how often I do the foot in mouth thing, the lavender makes me happy. I would rather have the friends than the foot-in-mouth disease, any day.
Writing has slowed down, as it does on the home stretch. I discover missing things and contradications and fix them up as I go. Some of these are quite small (there are four paragraphs I need to get rid of today, for instance, because they were supposed to fit in with other ideas and the other ideas just didn't work, so that little sequence sticks out badly and has no 'ah' moment later on) and some are large (did I really entirely forget an evilsupervillain or am I missing something? fortunately, it turned out to be the latter and a matter of giving a minor character a better developmental arc - one doesn't want to mislay evilsupervillains, after all).
I need to have it all done by Monday, because things get complicated if I don't. I also have to finish an editing job from last year (makes me sound such a slacker when I say 'editing job form last year!). I'm going to get over the 24hourness of thus virus and get it done!
