Feb. 21st, 2009 05:45 pmLots of news today.
First - Hope. That's a good word. An ezine by that name has been put out by Grant Watson to raise money for the Victorian bushfire relief. It's got some lovely stuff in part #1 and there is more to come. You can find out about it here.
Second - Masques the proof has arrived and been seen. Watch for Masques the real anthology, coming soon.
Third - one of the beta readers has already reported back on my ghost novel. I'm not going to make a habit of reporting on beta reading, but this was my woman over 70 looking at my retired characters. "I know these women," she said. Given what they get up to, this is a worry.
Fourth - I'm taking more time out over the next fortnight. I shall watch TV or DVDs and read. I'm not someone who looks tired unless she's past exhaustion and almost everyone who sees me rght now comments on how tired I look. The next person who comments on how tired I look is going to lend me a DVD (what I really want is a masssage, but a DVD will do).
Fifth - I'm not going to cook 300 of the Conflux test recipes myself. If anyone wants recipes (or more recipes) I have till the end of March to finalise most things for the chef. I have so many cakes and biscuits (US biscuits) and a few pies and... lots of stuff. I'm blogging on my food history blog if you want to follow my progress, including my resistance to squirrel.
Sixth - Flycon is beginning to shape up. Some amazing people have signed up. If Geoff Ryman is on a panel at 4 am my time, then I shall be there, with bells on (the bells are to keep me awake). You can keep an eye on Flycon here and very soon on SFF.net. A great deal of Flycon will be happening on LJ or SFF.net.
March is going to be a heck of a month, with Conflux banquet stuff and Masques and Flycon
