I just realised that the nice Medieval depictions of Three Wise Men in a Tympanum show the degeneration of humans over time. How? How else did we go from Three Wise Men in a Tympanum (impressive religous picture) to Three Men in a Boat (fun book by Jerome K Jerome)?

This is not my useful post today. Just a stray bit of curiosity.
