Jun. 10th, 2009 06:27 pmI just got my first piece of 'gifts to give your father for father's day' spam. They happen twice a year, for two different calendars. This year, if I get too many, I may just buy something COD and address it to my fathers' current addresses. If someone sends me a sincere personal letter suggesting I buy my father a drill, I shall send a sincere personal latter back saying that this will be a very good idea, and that the minute the cemetery sorts out power supply to gravesites I shall buy two, one for each father.
Note: I get just as distressed over spam for mother's day. The jokes are less morbid, is all. Dad would have enjoyed the jokes - Les wouldn't have, but would have understood my need to tell them. I miss them both in a way I would not miss those emails trying to sell me goods to give them.
