(no subject)

People keep mentioning Franciscans in emails today. I keep reading "Ordo Fratrum Minorum" (the proper name of the order) as "Order of Little Brothers." I also keep recalling a Franciscan friend I lost touch with far too long ago, who rather liked playing poker. I googled him and he's doing interesting things. If I see him again, I'll have to be way more respectful than I was twenty years ago.

The only other thing of note in my day is a lightly spiced almond-milk custard sweetened with farm honey, baked with stewed quinces in an open coffin. Also very medieval.
