Jul. 19th, 2009 12:09 amI had a round dozen students today, ranging in age from 8 (and three-quarters) to 14. They voted - en masse - to skip a break (sunshine and stalls and biscuits) in favour of talking about books. They worked for four hours. They were literate and funny and hard-working. We talked books a lot and all of them had read a vast number, thoughtfully and intelligently. And they're the direct result of the Harry Potter phenomenon.
