Today is rather cool. My students and I listened to the radio broadcast of our launch from last week. It was played at peak hour on a Tuesday afternoon, which was exceptionally nice. We also admired the photo and article in the newspaper. Oh yes, and we did work. I made them write seven word stories, because they weren't clear on the difference between action and a declarative statement. They've put in a request for more TS Eliot next term. They want the fog sequence from The Lovesong of J Alfred Prufrock again.

On the way home, I noticed that all the early blosoms are out. Tree after tree after tree in full bloom. This is just perverse. I wasn't joking about the winds the night before last and some of last night. I didn't get any sleep at all last night because of the weather being odd (and making me odd), and there was lots of snow on the mountains and the wind brought it right into our little sequence of valleys. Every single person (except me) said to the bus drivers "Cold this morning, isn't it?" And yet the blossoms are out a bit early. They like massive winds that leave bark and branches strewn everywhere!
