Sep. 22nd, 2009 10:42 pmCanberra is an exciting place. Even the air is exciting. Last night we had thunder that echoed down the valley. Today we had pale pink dust blown in from the west, trying to look innocent and pretend it was fog. Tonight it's light rain and heavy lightning.
I played dodge-the-lightning on the way home, in fact, and want to send a message to the powers-that-be that a little ordinary sunshine won't go astray tomorrow, especially between ten and two. While playing dodge-the-lightening is fine for me, it's not so fine for my students, and we have our big excursion to Floriade. My emergency plans include sitting in the cafe, writing on soggy paper, dedicating our poems to raindrops.
