I'm back. Dead tired, but back. I'll post about ferries and other things in a little, when I am sufficiently recovered. In the meantime, I am puzzling over a mystery. Who was it who rang me nine times while I was away and left only a buzz at the other end? I find I can't decode the message at all and I'm hoping it's nothing seriously wrong anywhere.

My update has been delayed by lack of refrigeration. The refrigerator has suddenly nearly died and emergency measures have had to be taken. Donna and Matthew have taken charge of all the food that was still OK and left me ice to see me over tomorrow. My rubbish is full of dubious food and all I want to do is sink into an armchair and drink much milky tea. Milky tea is out of the question until I have refrigeration. Anyhow, tomorrow I will make the crucial phonecall to see if it can be repaired, replaced, given a sad grave.

In real news, my Uncle Abe just died. I'll miss him (we all will - he was everyone's favourite uncle) but I have to admit, he was 96, so he had a good innings. Last time I saw him was at my stepfather's minyan and he looked fragile.

I know I have work to do, but I've been up since 6.30 am and the day has just been one excitement after another. Except when I fell asleep on the bus for a half hour, that was soothing. Until I got home, it wasn't a bad day and even when I got home it was day with brightness - Matthew and Donna brought me some yummy presents from their recent trip. I just don't want to face yet another broken electrical appliance. I think I might be cursed. I think I might watch TV and have an early night. Or watch DVDs and have an early night. Or even have an early night and have an early night.

One more quick post.

I wasn't going to mention reviews of my stuff because I get annoyed when a blog is nothing but reviews of one's own work and comments on reviews. Reviewers don't need the a constant series of comments by writers about their work.

Matthew suggested tonight that maybe some people might want to see the reviews, so I'm giving you the URLs of reviews I'm sent or I discover in case you want to see them youself. A rather nice one was posted while I was away.
