Nov. 27th, 2009 11:10 amI had Important and Entertaining Stuff to say today. I think I did, anyway. It all frothed away into the ether when I had a silly dream. The silly dream was trying to make me feel guilty for being lazy this week, I'm sure of it. I need to declare a vendetta on silly dreams. Then they'll declare vendetta back and the whole thing will escalate. Dreams feuds!
If you are in Sydney and keen on following the escalation, all you have to do is turn up at Bankstown Library any time between 9 am and 4 pm tomorrow. You get to talk to Kate Forsyth and get a photo of Terry Dowling hugging you, if you play your cards right and have good luck (and a camera). If you're unlucky, you'll catch me reading aloud or trying to sound intelligent about history and movies.
I get so see so many friends this weekend, some writers, some not - it's going to be a great deal of fun.
I can see only two scraps of bleakness in my weekend plans. The first is that at least three of my friends will bet on the silly dreams and egg them on. They may use gourmet eggs, but egging will most definitely happen. The second is that I really need a slightly different reading for tomorrow morning. There's some overlap with the one I did last year, as it stands, and SF groups have good memories. I an take care of that latter right away.
