Feb. 19th, 2010 04:18 pmSometimes life is funny. The post I made about life imitating art, where ants in my unit are copying what ants did in my novel has been marked as offensive by someone in Facebook. Every time I tried I got a pop-up window saying it had been marked as offensive and was censored. What this means is that my original comment was not made (though I managed to get other comments in, a few minutes later). It's been censored before I even make it. What did the readers of that post in Facebook miss that was going to be offensive?* I'd tried to say that I can't bring myself to kill the nest of ants and that, anyway, the ants will be gone when the season changes.
What I'm interested in knowing is who reported the post as offensive and and why? Also, if I have any rights of appeal. There were no links to rights of appeal. And three minutes later the censorhsip button stopped appearing.
If I can't talk about ants, what can I talk about? All suggestions of topics will be thoughtfully considered.
*Of course it's probably a glitch. But what if someone really was offended by my post about ants? Or maybe, worse, me mentioning my novel? One must assume the worst...
