Jun. 10th, 2010 09:06 amMy kitchen tap fittings are deep-set, it seems, and also needed complete replacement. The plumbers (both of whom are absurdly young, shivering with cold and came exactly when they were supposed to) have gone out to get replacement parts. My toilet already has its replacement parts.
I wish it was as easy as ducking out to Reese's to get different fittings for other aspects of my life.
I should stop complaining. Friends have made some bits of the week much less difficult than I expected (E is giving me lifts today so I don't have to do all that walking in the cold - it also means I can get a full day's work done - yesterday I was not so well and Tuesday I spent doing messages and at the hospital being checked, so a solid day's work would be rather nice) and other friends have just been lovely (thanks to C, I have a new small flat screen TV which will hopefully work on my computer and help the eyes - one of the shopping things today is finding the right cable). The negatives outweigh the positives in some fairly vile ways, however. Most of them are things I can't talk about here, since they relate to other peoples' lives. I haven't told the whole lot to anyone because it's one thing after another, and several a day.
I need to do more of my follow-up medical stuff, but not this week. This week needs to wind down, because all the symptoms I was supposed to eliminate are returning due to stress. This is par for the course. At least some of the stress will go when I have a working toilet and a working kitchen sink. Only about fifteen minutes and one minor evil will be banished from my life.
PS I spoke too soon. The kitchen sink is a major problem.
PPS It took an hour and a half and I have to reconfigure my finances again, but the kitchen sink is now solved.
