Aussie spec fic writers
Jun. 26th, 2010 03:03 pmAmanda Greenslade, of the Specusphere is putting together as complete as possible a list of Australian speculative fiction writers. If you or anyone you know or know of is missing or any of their details are incorrect, now's a very good time to email her and let her know, because she's adding details at a rate of knots.
While on the subject of lists, Tehani Wessley has put together a list of stuff that's eligible for this year's Ditmar. She asks that you email her if there's something missing (I notice the fan listings in particular need suggestions - go ye and email!). I want to tell everyone to nominate me (Life through Cellophane would be nice, essays would be almost as good - my short stories, though, are pretty ordinary - mind you, none of my essays are on the list yet) but look at that list - there's an abundance of wonderful stuff. We only have till 23 July to get nominations in. Anyone active in fandom is eligible. I don't know if you have to be Australian - I rather suspect that if you're coming to the DuDcon at AussieCon you might be eligible to nominate works because that would make you active in Australian fandom (Dudcon can cost as little as $10Aussie - a bargain!) - but this is a guess.
Note: Tehani's list is more complete than this one.
If you feel very passive or if you're wildly busy or if all this Australian writing is just a bit too alien, then maybe just open the lists to have a quick look and see what the SF scene looks like right now.
* Clarification. Tehani's list is to help you nominate - emailing Tehani won't ensure your nominations are made. For that you have to fill in a form.
