Sep. 27th, 2010 02:51 pmThe weather is changing and I'm dealing with it using coffee. Also by complaining. I've decided that I am outstandingly talented in complaining about incipient weather shifts. I checked with Melbournites and it's already raining there, so I might have to stop whingeing in a few hours.
This morning I was reading cartularies and was rather relieved that my Latin still goes the distance (just). This afternoon I intend to read the Miracle of William (and I do hope that the ass's hind leg played a role - in fact, I'll be disappointed if it doesn't) and I'm enthused by the random line I read while sorting the pages: "I am near death," said William. Yep, this is the miracle of an epic hero, dying of old age in a monastery.
The other thing I have to read today is a manuscript I'm critiquing. And I'm outlining William's life as it was probably known in my place and time so that I can decide what I want to do with it. I lose half of tomorrow to a visit with the eye specialist, so I have a rather full day.
In between all this, I'm staying normal (for me) by watching anime. It means I get up and stretch and drink more cassia coffee. (It's cassia coffee because the coffee is so bad - I nearly made it cinnamon cofee, but the cassia was labelled cinnamon and the cinnamon was labelled cinnamon so I gave up and used the spice I had most of.*)
*That should be 'the spice other than mustard I had most of' - mustard coffee is not something I recommend.
