I've finished the close read and still have tomorrow left to enter my changes and write the difficult bits that needed thinking. I haven't accomplished a great deal more than that (so many things I needed to do that aren't done!), this weekend, but, given that what I really needed was a day in bed, I'm pretty pleased. Also, my fever is diminishing.

I shall sleep the sleep of the smug.

It's morning. At least, I think it's morning. I haven't had my coffee yet, for I did an extra hour's work last night, after I blogged. The fever had broken, you see, and so I looked at my list and thought "I can still cross things out." Besides, I thought I could sleep in today. I always sleep in on Mondays. Except, obviously, today, for I am already working. I'm blogging in my coffee break.

I just received a phonecall saying "I'm a parcel delivery person and have no idea where you live, so I'm driving around." I gave him instructions and he's driving around some more, maybe finding me. I have a lovely image of a young man, lost.

If the parcel is exciting, I'll report on it later, when I'm due more coffee.

My parcel is exciting! It's the last two books I needed for chapter six (the ones that were unobtainable in Australia) and it's my birthday present to myself. Thierry la Fronde! Integrale!! 52 episodes in in glorious black and white. Chantez avec moi!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSDQSqe6T_E

No more medical appointments ALL WEEK! And I've nearly finished the novel edits. By 'nearly' I mean that the four episodes that were all too much for me still remain and my chapter headings need fixing - I like headings that bear no relation to the chapter and apparently this is not such a good thing. And I've read 200 pages for BiblioBuffet articles and finished with a whole stack of notes for the PhD.

Also, I have refrained from watching my new DVD. I may not watch it until I am all caught up, because I can't see myself doing work while watching...

I have to visit two libraries tomorrow.

My neighbour gave me a lift home from the supermarket.

I was rained upon, very much, on the way to the specialist. This didn't matter so much because it was the kind of specialist one strips off for (I was having an echocardiogram) and so my clothes dried (mostly) before I put them on again.

There has only been one crisis ALL DAY.

And that was your 6 pm news update.

Burglary is the gift that keeps on giving: I discovered more missing things tonight. Nothing end-of-worldish. Just another bit of sorting that must be done.
