The interview from last week is appearing in the Canberra Times and the Launceston Examiner this week. Food and Wine section. With photos. The CT food and wine section comes out tomorrow - I don't know about the Launceston Examiner.
If any of you get the Launceston Examiner (well, I can hope) and can recycle the Food and Wine section into my letterbox, I will owe you bigtime. I might even owe you bigtime enough to share some more of the family recipes that the article is about.
One thing that this sudden enthusiam about non-standard Jewish traditions is showing me is that maybe I wasn't as stupid as I thought I was when I wrote "Secret Jewish Women's Business". There is definitely an interest in these things. Magic and family and recipes get everyone nearly as excited as the Middle Ages.
Varuna has been confirmed for next year (yeehah?), so after that I need to see about getting Secret Jewish Women's Business in the publication rounds again. But who would have guessed that Launceston would be interested enough in Anglo-Australian Jewish traditions to run a story on it? When the different parts of my life come together, the result is always unexpected.
If any of you feel really upset that Canberra and Launceston have chicken soup and honey cake recipes and you are missing out, I will post them here just before Rosh Hashanah. Let me know, though. I have disovered recently how sadly lacking I am in mind-reading skills.
