I am metaphorically shaking my fist at the world.

The last course that I was teaching in March is now not happening. It was - as were all the others - just one person short of the minimum. I have still got an exciting and wonderful month ahead, but somehow it has to be exciting and wonderful with no money. The good news is, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] exp_err's gift of Louisiana coffee, I can still give friends outstanding coffee. It is kinda nice to be able to say to friends "come over for coffee." So come over for coffee if you want to see me, cos me going out for coffee is going to be unachievable for a bit.

I hate the no-income thing, but I shouldn't grouch too much because truly, March is a fun month this year. I get to do the women's history thing. I am watching DVDs and making all sorts of preserves for winter with Donna and family this weekend. There is Nicole's book launch the weekend after (ask for details and I shall provide!! Sydney and Melbourne friends - the first person to shout out they need a bed for the night in order to get to the launch, gets my amazingly comfy futon). On March 25 there is Magic Casements and seeing family and friends in Sydney.

I have visitors galore to enjoy, too. Lots of folks are dropping by this month (poor souls). A cantor/musician friend said this morning he was coming unexpectedly this week and [livejournal.com profile] girliejones is coming next week, for instance. And all those hours liberated from teaching means I start in on the other half of that novel. And if I have no money I will not be able to buy junk food, which means I can stick to the diet and my pain levels will decrease a bit.

See, lots and lots of good stuff happening. Just no income. Maybe next month.

BTW, your women's history note of the day is an advertisement for a US performer who uses women's history themes and gender equity on stage: check out Jane Curry at http://www.janecurry.com/
