(no subject)
Mar. 10th, 2006 09:57 amI had something important to say today (not 'eat more chocolate', though I admit that is acutely important). It might have been a request for preferences for womenstuff: do you want more medieval, more modern, more political, more humour? I don't think it was that, but I would be happy for answers - a whole month on a single subject (however important) has the potential to induce sleep. Tell me the things you find interesting.
Unless... unless I want to go into the business of creating gentle dreams and eliminating insomnia. Don't tell me your preferences for my women's posts! Use their soporific nature to reduce your nightmares and ensure you wake up refreshed every morning.
Maybe not. Maybe it's time to ask for feedback.
To help you think, here is a webpage about Wisconsin women, sent to me by Erika Janik. http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/topics/womenshistory/ For foodie friends, there is a link to material on women and wild rice.
For people wanting a bit more excitement in their lives, scroll down a bit on this page http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/highlights/archives/2006/03/hidden_from_his_1.asp and you will find a committee investigating the sources of vice in Wisconsin. I didn't know Wisconsin had a history of vice!
The evidence to the committee tells us a lot about the ordinary lives of young women, especially those in danger of being led astray. Right now I am about to sulk over my lost opportunities. I won't be posting till Sunday, I suspect. That's how deep in mourning I am for not being led astray.
Think of how much more interesting my life could have been if I had only discovered these documents earlier. Or if someone had tried to corrupt me. Or both.
