Words Worth Bookshop in Little Rock, AR and I exchanged texts during my book tour a few years back: they gave me a cool book curse and I gave them an old "return this book or else" rhyme. Just to complete the loop I will paste the rhyme below. A few of you already have it as I handed it out to astonished individuals last year. Life was dull so I handed out rhymes on cards. Look, it made sense at the time.
Yee that desyre in herte and have pleseaunce
Olde stories in bokis for to rede
Gode matteres putt hem in remembraunce
And of the other take ye more hede
Whanne yee this boke have over-redde and seyne
To ................... restore yee hit ageyne.
Note: You would not believe how much the spell checker hated those 6 lines. I believe it has called vendetta on me.
