Today my worldbuilding students and myself adjourned to a restaurant for class, because it just seemed like a logical thing to do. They had patiently waited a half hour for me outside a locked door, you see.

I left in plenty of time, but the bus leaving for my place was early and missed picking me up. I walked to the interchange but the bus there was *way* early and missed picking me up. One of my students was on it and the driver missed the university, dropping her at the next stop which was miles further on, it being an express bus. Anyhow, I was still in plenty of time if I caught a taxi. No taxis. So I raced for the next bus ... which didn't come. It eventually came, a mere 12 minutes late.

And the door to the classroom had been locked by mistake. We could have called security to open it, but coffee and sushi seemed way preferable. Creating worlds goes much better with coffee and nori maki.

My tonight's mood encapsulated in a poem. http://www.abyssandapex.com/200604-beasts.html

It's funny - since I don't read much poetry - that the first modern poem in ages that reflects an internal mood should be written by a LJ friend.

PS I am not counting Richard I's poem as poetry this month. I taught it to students, but the whingeing in it got too much for me. My Plantagenet Life class keeps getting snarky commentary on "heroes you would probably rather never meet". Next week's anti-hero is Raoul de Cambrai, who at least had a solid reason for feeling hard done by.
