Jan. 5th, 2007 08:45 pmMost people around me are explaining what they're reading and what they will read. I ought to do this. If I had more time I would be totally useful to humanity and give my 'year's best' list to ASiF. Then I wondered why it was so difficult to work out what my top ten was or to work out how many books I have read.
The answer to why I don't talk about my current reading very often and why I have trouble coming up with a list of favourites turns out to be a simple numbers thing. I have read four books so far this year and it has been a low-reading week because of work and health and because I have been working my way through films (how I deal with health and still enjoy work). That makes working out 'best' a difficult thing. I do agree 100% with the young adult shortlisting for the Aurealis awards, though. Lovely books and stories and each and every one of them is different and special. So that's the best I can do for recommendations.
