I just posted a report on the latest recipe tests for the Regency Gothic banquet. Some totally yummy stuff.

The rest of the day has been consumed by storms. I would complain, except there was a little rain with the storms this time and a bit of rain is worth more than a Gillian-migraine any day. Besides, storm-induced nightmares are fascinating.

The more I write, the more my dreams turn into beautifully constructed narratives. When I wake up I think "That works - no wonder it gave me such powerful sleeping emotions" and then I realise that I do lousy world-building in my dreams and *never* get the science right. I don't even get the history right. The stories shatter to pieces on implausibility. The emotional resonances are terrific, though.

If you have a Medieval setting for a tale and you want to get the right saints on the right day for the right district, this is a good place to check.
