Feb. 19th, 2007 10:33 pmPurim is coming up. Anyone free on 3 March who is interested in celebrating (no religious conviction necessary, though a sense of humour is essential) should drop me a note in the comments or by email or by phone.
Tomorrow my course on Jewish Culture and Jewish Food begins. We may have to make hamentaschen, since it goes over Purim. I'm not sure that the ANU will condone us getting drunk. I love teaching this course - it's always a lot of fun.
February/March courses are always touch and go. Lots of bods get enthusiastic and then fail to sign up. I have 4 hours teaching a week for the next six weeks, though, which is enough to keep the wolf from the door. It's all close together, too, which means I have writing/editing/recovering from summer time. While I wish the other courses had happened (and enthusiasm for courses is always overweighed by the effort of enrolling for them, especially when the weather is ick) I can't complain about having more time to do the other things I need to do: it's going to be a busy year.
