May. 30th, 2007 10:37 pmToday was kind of an uphill day. Nothing terrible - just uphill.
My emergency dental appointment went well, and I am now the proud owner of a 3 surface filling on a tooth that was threatening to crumble into oblivion. I met up with Donna after the dental appointment and we got up to mild mischief in Belconnen. I kept buying food until Donna decided she was hungry. I ate then, too, and realised that I had skipped lunch - it was that kind of day.
The surprise of the day was that Dymocks Bookshop in Belconnen has copies of Illuminations. So has Gaslight, in Fyshwick. If Canberra friends don't own my book, it's by active choice :). OK, it could also be lack of money. I'll understand if it's lack of money :).
I ought to be doing writing and work today, but I taught and I dentisted and I shopped and now I am sneezy and sleepy (Sneezy, Sleepy, Dopey and Doc, if you want to be precise). Basically, my virus has decided it made the wrong decision in trying to leave. It's like a teenager who wants to leave home but hasn't quite made up their mind. This is why I haven't yet blogged about Russell Kirkpatrick's diagram for keeping up with main themes of books. He's given me permission, so that post will come. Not till my brain is fully functional again, though : I sat down to other work today and read a page threee times before I realised I just wasn't taking it in. For the rest of the week, I'll stick to half days, and see if that persuades the virus that it's really time it found its own place.
