Notes and reminders and general flurry
Aug. 24th, 2007 10:39 amA quick note (mainly for
a_d_medievalist, who probably doesn't need it) that I've done part II of my thoughts on Richard III's coronation feast over on my other blog. Why is it easier to do a long post sometimes than to try something short and original?
My virus is slowly fading and I'm 1/3 of the way through the new Harry Potter. Who would have guessed that JK Rowling's special magic included the capacity to gently banish illness?
I just looked at my little list. This isn't the first big list, this is the follow-up list and I've got till Sunday to do it all. Only twenty things to go, most of them connected with writing. Once I finish the twenty, I can make my 'do before Jewish New Year' list and be in real countdown mode. So if there's anything you want me to get done before mid-September, now's the time to tell me. I know from previous experience that things not on my list get forgotten. I can put tiny things on the list. If you want me to ring you on a given date, or eat more lettuce, or do a meme, or give you a recipe for my grandmother's wonderful honey cake, or read your manuscript, you have till Saturday night to inform me.
I've already begun my 'do during the New Year holiday' list. It has a list of friends in Melbourne (anyone who wants to see me while I'm there, tell me and give me contact details and I'll start planning days in town), and it contains one other word 'chocolate.' I've already bought all my presents for family except for one. My sister and I are combining and buying something very special and strange for Mum. I'll tell you about it after the event. Anyhow, she's ordering it and all is going well.
Now that I've told you a ton of absolutely crucial stuff, I intend to read the rest of Harry Potter. It's exactly the right type of book for this particular virus.
