We're counting down to the Minicon. People have started registering on the site ( http://www.conflux.org.au/forum/ in case you've lost it) and someone has already checked out the Speakeasy. Last year we had a Lounge. This year a Speakeasy. Next year we'll probably have Callahan's Saloon.

We're counting down to the Minicon: I'm spending my countdown watching Farscape, since my virus still isn't quite gone (and falling asleep in the bath today convinced me I'm maybe not quite ready for Irish dancing or 10,000 word novel writing sessions).

We're counting down to the Minicon and there's snow on the Brindabellas*. The whole of the Minicon time non-local guests will be able to envisage walking out the door, looking across to the peaks and seeing something out of the Sound of Music (only not as tall, not as green, not as young geologically and by no means as free of eucalypts. None of us yodel, either. And our clothes are embarrassingly wrong. Maybe I need a different comparison?)**.

My question of the day is whether I should plague everyone with Minicon reports. I mean, if zombies turn up during Cat's session or if Marianne has a suitable reaction to me suggesting (yet again) that her next novel be about pink fluffy bunnies, does anyone want to know?***

*actually blizzards above 1200 metres. Mere snow elsewhere. Except in the valleys of Canberra, where it's rain, rain, all the way.

**local folks don't walk out the door at this time of year. We make hot chocolate and hide in warm corners. It's actually less icky when it's properly cold than when the rain dribbles.

***Nothing to explain here - I just wanted a third footnote.
